Mei Zheng

Mei is a current PhD candidate working on disease modelling. Her work focuses on applying mathematical concepts and frameworks to understand key factors driving transmission of infectious pathogens within animal populations. She majored in Mathematics and Immunobiology and completed her Honours project in Covid-19 modelling using different modelling approaches.
Mei builds on over a decade of experience across mathematics education working with students from all different backgrounds. She has tutored various calculus and linear algebra classes as well as coding and disease modelling classes at the School of Mathematics and Statistics over the past 5 years. She is passionate about equipping students with a solid understanding and mastery of daily mathematical tools and thinking framework used in STEM to solve real world problems. She endeavours to share the beauty, power and joy of mathematics with her students.
