Prachi Mishra

Prachi Mishra is the founder of The Quantum Project, a post-quantum cryptography startup based in New Delhi, India. Through the Project, she aims to develop encryption paradigms for the post-quantum era. She also engages with the policymakers in India and the Indo-Pacific to discuss ethics of quantum technologies, their governance, and equitable use. She is also a contributing researcher on the University of Sydney's Quantum Meta-Ethics project. Her research and publications have been focused on National Security implications of quantum technologies and their responsible use. She also enjoys teaching, writing, and explaining the security ramifications of quantum communications.
Previously, she was a Young Leaders in Tech Policy Fellow at the University of Chicago Harris. Through the Fellowship, she was engaged with the Delhi-based Observer Research Foundation (ORF) and the Centre for International Security Studies, University of Sydney. She published extensively about the uptake of quantum tech in the Global South, India’s quantum efforts, and how India can ease into the quantum transition.
She holds a postgraduate degree in Policy, Design, and Management from the Indian School of Public Policy and UChicago Harris and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering from India and Austria.
