The National Centre for Cultural Competence (NCCC) serves as a vital link between cultural competence research and transformational education, guided by principles of human rights and social justice. Through partnerships and collaboration with diverse individuals, communities, and organisations, the NCCC strives to drive positive social change by developing individual and institutional cultural capabilities and responsiveness.
The NCCC offers short courses as online modules to enhance individuals' cultural competence and promote culturally competent practices in organisations nationwide, empowering individuals to make informed choices to increase cultural safety and responsiveness.

Cultural competence online modules

Enhance cultural competence in your organisation with our self-paced online, research-based program. Suitable for individuals, teams, and managers looking to improve their understanding of cultural competence and address bias and racism in the workplace and broader social contexts.

Classes are offered in various formats, including in-person on Camperdown campus, in Western Sydney, and real-time online, with durations ranging from one to three days.

Massive online open courses (MOOCS)

The NCCC’s Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) are free, online and available globally on Coursera to anyone interested in improving their cultural competence.

Drawing on the knowledge and lived experience of a range of contributors, these flexible online short courses will deepen your cultural competence capabilities and enable you to apply them to your own contexts. Contributors include academics, activists, artists, language experts, Elders and key members from community organisations and the University community.
