Overview
As design expertise grows within organisations, it becomes even more critical for leaders and senior managers to harness this capability effectively. Supporting, enabling and managing design teams to achieve impactful outcomes requires a strong understanding of how best to leverage the potential of design.
This course will equip leaders with the necessary skills to drive organisational innovation and change by empowering design teams and growing the measurable value of design.

Architecture, Design and Planning
Aims
The aim of this course is to empower leaders and senior managers with the essential skills and strategic insights needed to leverage design and empower design teams to foster innovation and drive organisational change. While many organisations have embraced design as part of their innovation strategy, leaders can do more to support and leverage the work of design teams. This course enables leaders to better understand and organise design efforts across the organisation.

This course is suitable for leaders and senior managers who have responsibility for or leadership of design teams within their current organisation in sectors and industries undergoing radical change e.g. technology, environmental, retail, finance, banking, health, communities, justice, and education.
This course will be delivered in a hybrid style, consisting of two face-to-face learning sessions (14 hours) and online, self-paced sessions (approx. 24 hours). The course also includes an optional 2 hour networking event, making the course 40 hours in total.
Materials
All course materials are provided electronically through our Learning Management System (LMS) called Canvas 2. After enrolment, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the LMS.

We will use a variety of tools including Miro, which you can access on your browser, or you can choose to create a free or paid account and download the desktop software if you prefer:

There are two assessments: an interactive presentation and a strategic design report. These align with the learner’s work-based environments, creating opportunities for embedded learning and development of professional level knowledge and understanding that can be applied immediately in your business.
