ADHD Co-management Care for General Practitioners

This e-learning module is designed to upskill primary care practitioners in the management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
It covers essential content related to ADHD co-management including understanding diagnostic pathways, pharmacological and non-pharmacological management, and collaborative care models.
Created by a team of ADHD experts, including some with personal experience, this resource draws on both professional knowledge and lived experience.

Aims
The modules provide a focus on collaborative care, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, directly addressing the growing need for GPs to manage ADHD in partnership with specialists. The modules have been designed to encourage active participation and reflection, aligning with adult learning principles. The inclusion of case studies helps GPs understand ADHD symptoms and management across different life stages, ensuring that the design supports the achievement of the learning outcomes.
Content
The course is divided into four (4) short modules:
- Introduction to ADHD
- Diagnostic Pathways
- Pharmacological and Non-pharmacological Management of ADHD
- Co-Management of ADHD
These modules have been created for GPs, nurse practitioners, and specialist consultants involved in the NSW Health ADHD shared care trials. It is designed to help primary care practitioners in NSW enhance their skills. The goal is to support daily clinical work and offer straight forward information and advice on managing patients with ADHD symptoms.
This course will be delivered online via self-paced modules.
Materials
All course materials are provided electronically through our Learning Management System (LMS) called Canvas 2. After enrolment, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the LMS.
Software
We recommend using a desktop computer or laptop. Ensure compatibility by accessing Canvas on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

There is no prerequisite requirement to take this course.
You will be invited to participate in an evaluation of the efficacy of an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) e-learning module to support the trial of integrated models of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of ADHD.
Participation is voluntary and not required to access the course content.
